Over the weekend, CCP and White Wolf Publishing announced that they are entering into a merger. CCP is both the publisher and developer of the sci-fi MMO EVE Online, and White Wolf Publishing is known for the World of Darkness role-playing franchise, which includes Vampire and Werewolf. The goal of this new combined company is to create next-generation online and offline games as well as to enhance EVE Online with physical products such as strategy guides, novels and collectable card games. CCP also plans to bring White Wolf's properties into the gaming world. An online game based on World of Darkness is already in the early developmental stages. Both companies will continue to operate under their current names. White Wolf will continue to work on its current lineup of non-videogame products. No other details, such as platforms or a release schedule, were announced.
