Virtual Console Tested! (gamespy)

- gamespy -

It's been less than one hour since I blew my Wii Points at the Wii Shop Channel online store. I only had 2000 points to play around with, but I knew what the first purchase would have to be -- Super Mario 64. The process was ultra-easy and painless, and I didn't experience any technical hitches or issues. I'd say the whole process from start to finish took less than two minutes, and now SM64 is installed on my Wii and resides on one of the spare channel spots on the desktop. Awesome! I ended up blowing another 800 points on F-Zero too, but here's a bunch of photos detailing the SM64 process.

This is a small taste of things to come! Both games controlled perfectly well using the new Classic Controller, so stay tuned for more Virtual Console updates over the coming weeks.

Hit the big blue button to kick off the download.

Here's how much it costs and how much memory it takes up.

It has begun.

Mazza collects coins and hits blocks to illustrate the progress of the download.

He goes ape on the last block and then you're done.

Download successful!

My own personal catalog.

SM64 gets its own channel on my desktop.

It's been a while since I saw that face...

I think he likes the Classic Controller.

I decide to stop being an idiot and set my TV back to 4:3 ratio.

"Here's some rather chunky type-face, Mario!"

120 star, was it? Bring it on!
