Read The Classics On Your DS (kotaku)

- kotaku -

I don't know about you, but every time I settle in on the train to play some Advance Wars on my DS, I get to thinking "man, I wish I was reading the Iliad instead of playing this stupid game".

Brandon Mullins has got my back. He's launched a plan to turn the DS into an ebook reader, and is asking Nintendo for some help. With most literary "classics" in the public domain, and with Opera already showing the DS can be used to view large bodies of text, technically this shouldn't pose too much of a problem.

It's a noble pursuit, but come on, it'll never take off. Between loading the titles onto cards and squinting at the small screen, you're better off reading the actual book. That said, get some wi-fi multiplayer in there for Canterbury Tales and you might be onto something.
