Hudson’s Legendary Arcade Hit Cooks Up Something “Special” on Mobile

Hudson Entertainment, the North American publishing arm for Hudson Soft, today announced that they are bringing an enhanced version of the arcade hit, "BurgerTime" to mobile phones. The new version of the game, titled "BurgerTime Special," is meatier, juicier and more fun than ever, with new levels that boast more robust graphics and animation. The game is currently live on T-Mobile, and will be available on all other major carriers in North America in late 2006.

“'BurgerTime' has been a hugely popular arcade game for years. It’s been released on systems ranging from the Apple II to the Nintendo GameBoy(R),” said John Greiner, President of Hudson Entertainment. “'BurgerTime Special' will appeal to both classic gamers who loved the arcade original and casual gamers looking for a fun, new mobile experience.”

About "BurgerTime Special":

Originally launched as an arcade game back in 1982, the game instantly became popular in both the United States and Japan. The arcade hit returns to mobile phones with an enhanced style, graphics and animation! All new levels, and an even wackier bunch of enemies,- including the crazy hotdog, and rampant corn on the cob - await you. Blast enemies with your pepper, which will stun them, and build some of the biggest hamburgers you have ever seen: meatier - juicier - and double the special sauce!

"BurgerTime Special" features:

  • Legendary arcade action enhanced with new style, graphics and animation!
  • Fast action: run along the platforms, climb ladders, and stomp hamburgers onto platters, collecting bonuses along the way.
  • Crazy enemies; avoid them or spray them with paralyzing pepper
  • New and improved Al; the fried eggs and frankfurters now have a bunch of new, nastier pals
  • New characters: meet the pepper-immune chili paprika, corn the surprise runner, nacho the unpredictable, and even the mysterious aspic itself!
