Don't look now, but there are reports saying that Apple will begin offering Blu-ray-equipped Macs by February 2007. This is only according to some sources and nothing has been confirmed by Apple as of now.
There are no details divulged and it is not known whether systems will be announced with the new drive on February, pre-announced in January for a later release date, or if the Blu-ray equipped babies would be added to manufacturing for an announcement some time in the first quarter.
Those aren't the only sketchy details as it is also not known if the alleged new drive will rely on an update for the Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger that will add support for the drive, or if the drive will depend on the Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.
But if you can't wait for this rumor to materialize or to be debunked, you could always buy a Sony VAIO laptop with Blu-ray that will cost you around US$ 3,000-3,500 or a desktop variant that will go for US$ 2, 250.
